Better Homes, Better Health Consultation
As part of the Better Homes, Better Health programme funded by People’s Health Trust, SACMHF facilitated a tenant consultation bringing together residents from across Birmingham and the Black Country to explore the relationship between housing and health. Participants discussed the realities of poor housing, the impact on their physical and mental wellbeing, and the barriers they face in accessing support. Through SACMHF’s culturally responsive approach, participants felt able to speak openly about sensitive issues including discrimination, mental health, and housing insecurity, helping generate valuable evidence that will inform future service design and systems change.
