In March our Co-production session took place with service users exploring options for summer trips and summer activities both in and out of the centre. It was mentioned that more beach day trips, walks and trips to places such as the Mac Theatre and Cannon Hill Park would be appreciated.
Anthony Reece-Thompson, Business Development Manager said:” Co-production isn’t just about listening, it’s about acting on what people are telling us. What came through clearly is that connection, getting out, and being part of something matters just as much as support itself. Whether it’s the garden project, trips, or simply spending time together, these moments play a huge role in people’s wellbeing. Our role is to turn those ideas into real opportunities that bring people together and strengthen that sense of community.”
For the second part of our Co-production session, we had a visit from Elizabeth Kardynal, Director from ERAVI – in hearing views from our service users in Building a safer, more united Sandwell. ERAVI are a community led project helping spot small issues before they turn into big ones and are working in partnership with Sandwell Metropolitan Council to listen to local people, recording what’s happening, and sharing feedback with the council to tell them what residents want for improving community safety and cohesion. Elizabeth said: “May I thank you and your team as well as wonderful service users for such a warm welcome and some great discussions around community safety and community cohesion. The honesty and down-to-earth approach will help to shape our final report which will be shared with the council, MHCLG and all our partners including yourselves. It’s been a pleasure to talk to you all. “

Co-Production takes place every 3 months with the aim to have service user voices at the forefront of everything we do.
