SACMHF partners with WorkWell to boost confidence and employment skills

SACMHF has joined forces with WorkWell, part of Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, and Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Retention Employment Services to deliver a six-week work-readiness programme for our service users.

Launched in September, the programme helps people who want to return to work, explore new opportunities or build their confidence. It supports participants across the Black Country to overcome health-related barriers and move towards education, training, volunteering or employment at a pace that feels right for them.

Sessions cover practical topics including creating a standout CV, exploring volunteering opportunities, developing interview skills and celebrating progress.

Participants have responded positively to the programme. Delcie Keiton said: “The sessions help build confidence in finding a job and in yourself. I enjoyed learning what makes a good CV and felt comfortable asking questions.”

Angela Allen, the WorkWell Work and Health Coach delivering the programme, said:

“The second session on the Kuumba Job Club was a great success! Following on from our first session which was on building confidence, this session looked at CV writing and how to showcase skills, experience and strengths effectively. Everyone who attended engaged positively, contributed to the session and took away new knowledge and useful tips to support their employment journey.”
