Stop For Life Sandwell, Stop Smoking Workshop at Kuumba Centre

On Thursday 29th January, Ian and Harkeerat from Stop for Life Sandwell delivered a Stop Smoking workshop at the Kuumba Centre.

This interactive session gave free expert advice on both the effects of smoking and vaping, not only on physical health but also how it effects people financially and can cause poor mental health.

Both staff and service users attended on the day and found the workshop useful and increased their knowledge on the consequences of smoking tobacco, vaping and using nicotine products.

The workshop also gave an insight on how to tell the difference between illegal tobacco and vape products that have become prominent across Sandwell. This was useful especially for the younger people who vape.

It was great finding out there is a free local service for people who need support across Sandwell.

Stop for life Sandwell is a free 12-week programme for those who want to quit smoking or vaping. The service is for anyone 12 years+ who lives, works or is registered to a GP in Sandwell.

Those who join the service will receive free nicotine products, behavioural support from a stop smoking coach and can attend clinics for face-to-face appointments across the 6 towns of Sandwell or receive over the phone support.
